He must become greater: I must become less. (John 3:30)
As a Jesus follower, I cannot share about myself before I speak of my Savior. My desire is that as I share my own story, He will become greater, and I will become less, for it is to Him that I owe my breath and life. He is my Creator, Rescuer, Redeemer, Savior, Sustainer, Counselor, and Comforter. He is the way and the truth and the life (John 14:6).
I am blessed to be the wife of Michael Popp, my husband of twenty-six plus years, the mother of three sons and two daughters (one by international adoption), an occupational therapist caring for infants in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, and a writer. I am a firm believer that God equips those He calls, and that each of His callings on our lives are anointed by Him. No matter my sense of inadequacy, I must ground myself in His truth, which tells me that I am enough because I now live by faith in the Son of God who loved me and gave Himself for me. (Galations 2:20)
In April of 2018, God called me to write about our family’s adoption journey and all the things He taught and continues to teach us in a through it. Through His Word, His Spirit moving in our hearts, people, events, and circumstances, He led us to adopt our youngest daughter from an orphanage in Haiti. Although I will share bits and pieces of our story here on my blog, you will want to subscribe to my blog and/or follow me on Facebook to find out when my book, Beyond the Quake: Our Journey of Adoption and Hope, comes out, at which time you will be able to read the full story.
I grew up in a military family and moved around every three years during my childhood, but the Lord led Michael and I to make our home in San Antonio, Texas, where we have lived our entire married life, a bit of a miracle from this military girl’s perspective!
